Marking the 150th anniversary of Mrs Beeton’s death, award winning playwright Alison Neil provides a lively, all-new retelling of this entertaining and moving story, using the latest research

Many years after her untimely death, her sister muses on the extraordinary life of her famous big sister. They were the eldest of 21 children, brought up in the Grandstand at Epsom Race Course. She went on to marry a charming publisher, Sam Beeton, and joined his rackety life in journalism, culminating in her world famous book.

Flicks ‘ Easter Parade’

Date: March 24, 2018

Time: 7.00 pm


In this lavish musical, Broadway star Don Hewes’ ( Fred Astaire) dancing partner (Ann Miller) goes solo, and Don declares that he can make a hit performer out of the next dancer he sees. This turns out to be the inexperienced Hannah (July Garland), who bristles as Don tries to make her into his old partner. But, as he realises that he is falling in love with Hannah, Don knows he must let her grow into her own kind of dancer if he wants her to reach her full potential.

Note that this is our ‘Easter Special’, and will be shown on a Saturday.
Easter bonnets optional, but recommended!

Every Monday 10.00am : Walking to suit all levels of Fitness.

If you know anyone recovering from illness or treatment who would like to walk as part of their recovery programme, please contact Sonia Hobbs 01746 861167 or email Ideal for people who have never “walked” before but who would like to take part to improve their health. Even if you do not want to walk you would be welcome to join us for a cup of tea and biscuit when we return to the Hall around 12 noon.
